Who Is Osho?
From the eyes of a seeker, Osho is the sought. From the eyes of a devotee, he is everything. For anyone listening to him for the first time, he is like a fresh breeze — a gateway to a whole new dimension of existence.

About Osho
“Man as such is a search,” says Osho. We seek fulfillment and happiness — and in the ultimate sense something beyond transiency, time and impermanency; something which is deathless. We seek it consciously or unconsciously. For many, many lives we seek it where it is not: in riches, power, sex, fame, intensity — or in the opposite: poverty, celibacy, namelessness or boredom.
During the history of human consciousness thousands of enlightened souls have given themselves into the collective field to support our search. We still get inspiration from Krishna, Shiva, Jesus, Buddha, Laotse, Rumi — the list is very long. Yet humanity is still barbaric, cruel, egoistic and unhappy. Societies create exploitation and wars and deeply unhappy humans. We must ask why this is the case after thousands of years.
At this crucial point of human history Osho came and got enlightened on 21st March 1953. What is so special and different about him? Some data may be given: he gave 647 book titles to humanity. Since Shiva’s time almost 600 different meditation techniques have been developed — Osho created more than 650 new methods to transform our energies, to work with our subconsciousness and to discover the silence of mind in meditation. Just one single man!
He spoke about love, relationship, education, death, the deathless in us, meditation, creativity, art, music, enlightenment, esoteric sciences, bioenergies, psychology, health, children, chakras, and past lives. Extensively he gave concrete means to transform all kinds of suffering into bliss and freedom: loneliness, meaninglessness, fear, depression, disease — and how to access the inner energies dormant at our center.
His whole focus is on the individual and how to liberate us from all the programs given from the outside through education, parents, religions and societies. His focus for liberation is individualistic — through authenticity, centeredness and embracing life in its totality. There is not a single spark of refusal or rejection of body, pleasure, sex, life, joy, love, dance and celebration.
Osho means literally “the ocean.” That’s exactly what he is — an ocean of wisdom for all of us. If just one per cent of humanity turns towards meditation, a whole new consciousness can emerge. That is what the world needs right now.

Ordinary to Beyond Extraordinary
Sannyas, as shared by Osho, is not an escape from life but a deep entry into it with awareness. Through sannyas, one begins to witness thoughts, emotions, and actions with clarity. This witnessing transforms routine living into a sacred journey — what was once mundane becomes filled with presence and celebration. The extraordinary is not achieved by doing more, but by being more aware.
Unlearning from Osho
Osho teaches that true wisdom begins not by accumulating knowledge, but by unlearning what we have gathered unconsciously. Unlearning is the courageous process of dropping the layers of belief, fear and borrowed ideas to rediscover innocence. Truth is not taught — it is uncovered when falsehood is removed. In that space of emptiness, intelligence flowers spontaneously.
