Poem
Love — A Dilemma of Lovers
Sw. Prem Maitreya · March 27, 2026
A lover’s dilemma, love,
is like that of a salt idol—
longing to enter the ocean,
to play with its waves,
yet fearing it will dissolve
and disappear.
It is like fire—
wanting to shine in its own light,
yet fearing its own vanishing.
It is like the wick of a candle—
wanting to glow,
to be part of the flame,
yet afraid of being burned away.
So is the lover:
wanting to lose oneself in love,
yet trembling
at the thought of hurt,
of fading.
The dilemma of a lover is love itself—
to live in it,
and to disappear into it.
Oh lover, listen to Prem M,
Oh Dear, don’t fear—
and disappear, disappear.
